For the 2024-2025 school year, the Southport Middle School
and Sixth Grade Academy received their fifth ISSMA All-Music Award. The All-Music Award acknowledges those programs which offer a well-rounded music education to their students.
To receive this award middle school programs must receive gold ratings in the district solo and ensemble event, jazz festival, and concert band organization festival.

We are proud to share that for the third year in a row, Perry Township Schools has earned the distinction of being a “Best Community for Music Education” from @nammfoundation for its unwavering commitment to Music Education!
Our hope is that this recognition draws the attention of our entire community to the outstanding work put in by our Elementary & Secondary music teachers of all areas, and their importance to the well-rounded education of all children, from Pre-K all the way through high school.
We are one of only 17 districts in the state of Indiana to receive this recognition (there are 292 traditional public school districts in our state). Recipients included: Avon Community Schools, Carmel-Clay Schools, Clark-Pleasant Schools, Elkhart Community Schools, Fort Wayne Community Schools, MSD of Lawrence Township, MSD of Pike Township, MSD of Warren Township, MSD of Washington Township, Monroe-Gregg School District, Noblesville Schools, Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation, Perry Township Schools, Peru Community Schools, School City of Mishawaka, West Lafayette Community Schools, and Westfield-Washington Schools.
